About Braidwood NSW:
Braidwood is a small rural village 1 hour east of Canberra ACT, approx 3 ½ hours south of Sydney on the East Coast of NSW Australia. Braidwood's population is around 1100.Surrounded by the outlying villages of Nerriga, Mongarlowe, Majors Creek, (famous for its Music Festival) and Araluen ( famous for its peaches) Braidwood was once the hub of a thriving Australian gold rush community.
Braidwood has retained many of its historic buildings and dwellings. From the main street there are rural vistas in every direction.
There are cafes, galleries, craft and antique shops to explore, "true blue" country pubs and the original General Store, Muttons, well worth a visit.
